A blessing for Evan

Luke blessed our son Evan yesterday, February 4th, 2018 at church.
In the circle: Luke, Marc, Gregg Smith, Michael Bergquist, Jared Andrus, Brett Jarvis, Jared Bish

Here it is in full:

Our Father in heaven, we come before Thee, with the power of the Melchezidek priesthood which we hold, we give this infant a name and a blessing.  The name which we have chosen is Evan Luke Phillips.
Evan at this time we give you a blessing from your Heavenly Father, and ask the Spirit to be with us.  Evan we named you this given name, so that you will remember your Father is good.  This world is not perfect and we want you to, we bless you to, be able to be a bearer of light in the darkness, and midsts of confusion.  Evan we bless you with the strength physically and mentally and spiritually to succeed in this life.  We bless you to live up to the potential that Heavenly Father sees in you.  We bless you with all of the characteristics that Jesus Christ has taught.  To be virtuous, to be loving, caring, and kind.  We bless you to be patient amidst any afflictions that you come across.  Evan, we love you so much, and we want you to be happy and keep that smile on your face at all times.  We bless you to be obedient, and to go beyond reluctant obedience and to live free from bondage and from temptation.  You will be tempted, but you will be given the power to overcome anything dangerous.  Evan we bless you to look to those around you who love you and support you to learn from them and to seek their help.
We leave you these blessings, Evan, along with those that Heavenly Father has in store for you and we say that in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We are so happy that my siblings Gregg, Emma and Kaydee (not pictured) could drive over here from Rexburg to take part in Evan's special day.  Along with Luke's former roommate and his wife and two girls who came from Weiser.

We love our Evan.
