We have a little bit of spotty internet right now so I thought I would take advantage of that and squeeze a post in. This past weekend was great! Luke had off Friday and Saturday and we had some fun plans. First off, on Friday Luke felt the baby move for the first time! It was so incredible! We were sitting playing cards and listening to Christmas music and the little one was just going at it so I had him place his hand on my belly and almost as soon as he did he felt a soft jab. The look on his face was priceless! I don't think he really expected to feel anything, but he was surprised.
On Saturday we went to the hospital where I will be delivering to have lunch. We were hoping it would be similar to the hospital cafe in Rexburg....but it wasn't :( While we were there we thought we might see if we could get a tour of the maternity ward, and we were able to! It was really neat walking through what it will be like when I actually go into labor. I was happy to find out that I will get to stay in the same room for my labor, delivery, and recovery. Then I will be moved to a mother/baby room where I will stay for the rest of my hospital stay. So interesting....well to me at least :)
That evening we drove to Coeur D' Alene to eat at Texas Roadhouse (I don't think they have one in the Spokane area), and to see the Vocal Point Concert. Luke's twin brother Cody is in it. Before the show we were able to go backstage so Luke could sing with them! It was awesome! I was able to record it. The show was amazing, I was so impressed! During the show Cody came down into the audience and found us. He introduced us and what not, then announced to the entire audience that we are expecting! Haha we felt pretty special.
Well that's pretty much all that is going on in our lives right now. Here is an update on little baby's progress:
I'm gigantic!
How far along: 18 weeks
Size of baby: Baby P is the size of a bell pepper
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I am so embarrassed to say that I've gained 12 pounds! I'm a giant!
Maternity clothes: Absolutely. With all my weight gain there's no way I could squeeze into my old jeans.
Stretch marks: Not yet. I have a feeling it will be soon though :( I'm so hefty :(
Sleep: Sleep is pretty good! Occasional bathroom trips still.
Sleep: Sleep is pretty good! Occasional bathroom trips still.
Best moment last week: Luke feeling the baby move for the first time.
Movement: Yes! I only notice it though if I am really still or there is loud music on, particularly with a good bass. Ha.
Food cravings: Hmmm. This is always so tricky for me. Maybe I'm not your average preggo lady, but it changes so fast! One minute its fruit, the next its pizza, then its orange juice, etc. It seriously is so random.
Gender: 6 more days!!!!!
Labor signs: No.
Belly button - in or out? In
What I miss: I miss having a normal diet. I eat so spiratically (sp. ??) and it varies so much. I'm kind of a tough person to please right now.....Poor Luke....
What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender and announcing it to everyone :)
Milestones: Everyday I am less and less sick. Honestly my body is soooo weird right now. I'll be feeling fine and then out of nowhere I'll see or smell something and it will just trigger a vomiting session. I don't get it. I mean, the other day I threw up Dramamine. Dramamine! Anti-nausea medicine! I'm telling you, it's weird.
